Deity a Day: Day 5

Simbi
(Haitian)

(Haitian Vodou Veve for Simbi)

Voodoo patron of the rains and of magicians of a benevolent nature.

Simbi shares functions and characteristics with other Haitian gods.  Radiating and overlapping into other domains he is Simbi en Deau Eaux.  He is a snake in form, but a shy creature of fresh water.  He originates from several different African cultures which have contributed to Voodoo.
